I have a Russian version, so there's can be some misunderstandings with settings.
When I disable Tab-New tab page, open a new tab, press in a search box Catsxp instantly crashes...

It seems that a portable version has a problem with updates...
In StartupParm.txt I set as #--disable-catsxp-update and so there's an error at catsxp://settings/help:
"При проверке обновлений произошла ошибка: Не удалось выполнить проверку обновлений (код ошибки: 1: 0X80004005)."
At catsxp://settings/safetyCheck the browser says it's outdated, but it's last version.

Please be more specific, I didn't understand clearly what kind of operation would cause a crash and exit
Did you directly use old user data? Isn't it brand new?

yeah all brand new and clear
used 64 bit portable.
the error also occurs with the X86 standalone installation package...
