Dictation in google docs or office 365 not working?

Problem: Dictation - I cannot get catsxp to use the microphone to dictate on google docs or office 365. But I don't experience these issues with Microsoft Edge (google docs or office 365) ; or in Firefox (office 365) on the same machine/OS. But in Catsxp, despite allowing these websites to use my micorophone, catsxp is not able to communicate with the microphone - any ideas why this may be the case?

Attempted to track the cause, but the Google server returned a 404 error, unable to confirm the specific reason

I think I Figured out the reason - it only works in 3 browsers according to google:

I believe that while it supports 'Chrome' - it does not support chromium browsers - it seems the problem exists on brave too: https://community.brave.com/t/google-do ... e/457211/5

A pos from 2023 says "is there really no path forward for this? Seems like I need to reinstall Chrome just for this feature…"

Maybe the same reasoning applies to Office 365 dictation not working either...However, I can confirm that Office 365 dictation does work in firefox. But not google speech dictation.

Conclusion: I Don't think anything can be done about this...google is probably blocking chromium browers from using this feature..
