Catsxp Website and Forum Translate Issue

This concern may be for the websites admins...

I am having problems with translate, using 3.16 beta 2.

I believe it might be related to the Catsxp forum and website, as I tested a few others (in Chinese, French and Polish) and they worked. The Catsxp sites are not translating for me, I am receiving an error as in pic every time.

I don't see a "google translation source flag" but I do have both google and catsxp flags enabled for a few versions....it worked, then started receiving that error 3 or 4 days ago (did nothing to any settings in-between working and not). As noted, other sites work....

I wanted to update users on my "issue" because others could run into the same issue.

I thought translation was resolved, but when I was on another laptop, I had all 3 flags enabled, but still received the "Page could not be translated" message and indeed, the page did not translate! That was strange.

Troubleshooting the difference between the 2 Catsxp setups, I found the concern.

If you use the Catsxp shield and have "blocked scripts", you will get the "can't translate" prompt.

There must be a script that is used to translate websites. If scripts are blocked, the page will not translate.

Translation obtains the text through js, then sends the text to the server, and then returns the translated text through js. Js disabled? How to work?

With js disabled, translate did not work. I would not know at the time it was done by scripts....

on 1 PC, I had already turned off scripts to deal with that "titantv" script issue I posted about 2 weeks ago. The #2 PC I haven't used for 2 weeks, so the script blocker was still on...

I had to figure out the difference. That's when I realized translate is through scripts.

But I wanted to post the info, so if anyone else blocks scripts and then websites can not translate, they can find this post and resolve the issue.

Under normal circumstances, no user should disable js. How can the web page not have js? It has little use and can only be used as a static display page.

scripts also initiate anti-adblocking and such. I was able to partially disable the anti-adblocking script and have limited page use. Then I found a better way.
