How to avoid a new tab opening?

How to avoid a new tab from opening in this cases:
1 Open start page (home button)
2 Open a bookmark
3 Paste and go in the address bar (omnibox)
A new tab always opens.
This behavior is very different from Chromium.
Any help is welcome.
