Mr @ Redfox, do you have intel igpu ? users report that problem occur on iGpu, i think this is the origin of problem, i test the last beta version 5.5.4 of Catsxp :

Yes there is some display issues on 5.5.4 of Catsxp but the good news i can install my favourite extension to download videos on recent kernel !

I just installed 5.5.3 on my other 32 bit Win7 SP1, and everything is OK.
Both 32 bit and 64 bit versions are fine, with the KB4019990.

do you have intel igpu ? je think this is offical, this issue display affects only intel igpu, me my graphic card is Inter(R) Graphics Media Accelerator 3600 series , so in vitual machine to test this bug, i think we should put this kind of embed graphic in cpu

If it doesn't bother Mr. @Catsxp, and obviously if it doesn't cause him any problems, we hope that future Catsxp 32-bit versions will be based on the new Chromium-for-windows-7-specific commits that have fixed display issues, or make a special Catsxp release every month or six months based on the Chromium-for-windows-7-specific commits, informing users that there is a second, specific 32-bit Catsxp new version release that can fix some display problems on older OSes. yes we don't know the future, but if possible stability problems appear, then we hope pleae our beloved Chromium-for-windows-7 will make versions close to the original chromium without the new commits even if the display issues come back, it's better than nothing, the most important for me and surely for many others is to use our favorite extensions like downloader videos extensions in a recent stable kernel please to avoid eventual download problems , I tried Live stream downloader in chromium which has display problems, yeah some LSD menus are not visible but we can playback video and download video despite display issues, thanks!"

I think the developer of Catsxp takes the Chromium source code from the official repository only.
It would be valuable to publish the part of code which causes the problem, and the fixed one too, so he could implement it.

I tested chromium 138 with new windows SDK upgrade, and I could not install extensions in addition to display issue, I told the developer of chromium for windows 7 Mr. @e3kskoy7wqk that the new sdk also seems to have destroyed the possibility of installing extensions and the developer told me it is not certain because chromium 138 is unstable and that from now on, he will no longer talk about the modifications he makes to chromium to avoid this kind of hypotheses which go in all directions .... I am not an expert but it seems to me the source code of Chromium-for-windows-7 is open and it is up to the experts to check in Chromium-for-windows-7 repositery which commit caused display issues and maybe extension installation problems in new chromium kernels,

Version 136.0.7103.96 is also built with the new SDK. If you can install extensions on this version, then the new SDK is not causing the problem.

As for why extensions cannot be installed on version 138.0.7169.0, I do not know. I will soon build a new version of 138, and you can test whether you still cannot install extensions on the new version 138.

Currently I am using chromium 136.0.7103.101, I can install extensions, from now on I have decided to no longer install the beta version of chromium to avoid problems and tire you out investigating issues that the stable version can solve, so from now on I only install stable chromium on my eee pc which has the same version as offcial chrome kernel number....

Looking back, I think it's good for us users to have the choice: obviously, we use Chromium for Windows 7 OS with the commits that fixed display issues, thanks so much !
and also, it's good to have Catsxp as an alternative even without introducing specific commits that fix display issues : since I tested last Catsxp version 5.5.3 which have display issues= we can playback videos and download videos with the Live Stream Downloader extension, and also Catsxp offers an interesting choice because it still maintains Manifest v2 in a recent Chromium kernel. The question is, for how long will Catsxp continue maintain Manifest v2 ?

According to my tests, ublock manifest v2 blocks some pop-up opening that ublock lite manifest v3 does not block, but it seems ublock lite manifest v3 uses less resources and is effective on most sites....
