I of course have Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (x86), but I'm going to download and reinstall Windows 7 Service Pack 1 from the link proposed by this YouTube video. I'm taking a huge risk, and my eee PC risks becoming unusable, but I like using Catsxp, so I'm taking the risk. YouTube tells me the link may be dangerous. What do you think, Mr. Catsxp? As Mr. catsxp advises, the solution is to patch the system (Win7), not the browser. If you cannot install MS updates, your system is corrupted. If you have no system backup, you will have to reinstall it from scratch.

I have just installed Catsxp 5.5.3 on 32 bit version of Win7 SP1 (other PC) and it works without errors.

As for D3DCompiler_47.dll - if it is properly installed into the system, is has precedence over the version included in the Catsxp installation directory.
The file version included in KB4019990 is 6.3.9600.18611. Do not try to use Win10 or 11 version.

Yes Mr @Redfox, I think my system is corrupted, I downloaded service pack 1 and I installed it but I got a message "service pack 1 is already installed", I tried other windows patch but I got an error message.....I will wait for the progress of the problem resolution for Chromium and Catsxp, if the problem is not fixed, I will come back to use special updated firefox for windows 7 even if I prefer to use chromium because it allows me to display temporary video while downloading....or I stay with Catsxp 135 and chromium 135, I report other users have reported on github having problems with chromium 136 on windows 7.....if even updated firefox does not work anymore, then I will follow your advice and I will be forced to go to the repairer and reinstall it from scratch, thanks

I was wondering which MS update caused Catsxp to work (again), so I restored my system backup image to the date before installing the updates, and I am 100% sure that only one MS patch is needed. It is KB4019990, which installs the file D3DCompiler_47.dll version 6.3.9600.18611 to the system folder.
So, in my opinion, problem solved for now.

the new debug version of Chromium-for-windows-7 with previous sdk version fixes the issues on chromium 136 !!!


"I've built a new version 136.0.7081.0 that's identical to this release, except for reverting commit chromium/chromium@fca8e87.

This means the build uses Windows SDK version 10.0.22621.2428, so the issue shouldn't occur in this version.

Why bother yourself like this? It's already said to be a problem with the D3DCompiler_47.dll version. Simply download version 6.3.9600.18611 to replace and overwrite it will solve the problem
